Marriage registers before 1754

A full page from the marriage register for Halloughton, Nottinghamshire in 1692 to 1701.

Note the one marriage in 1692, where both Francis Astlin and Anne Watson are of Halloughton, hence the parish of residence is not stated. This is normal practice, although it may state "of this parish". Then a gap in marriages until 1697, when it appears that all the marriages are of people who were both from different parishes. If one or both were from different parishes to that where the marriage took place, it would almost always state this fact. Towards the bottom of the page the photocopy has picked up the texture of the old vellum. back to marriage registers
